About the role
Relationships Australia Queensland (RAQ) is seeking a Community Educator to deliver impactful gambling harm minimisation education and engagement. In this part‑time fixed‑term role, you will use a public health approach to raise awareness about gambling‑related harm, build strong community partnerships, and empower individuals to make safer choices.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging community education initiatives that promote safe gambling practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community groups, government, and the gaming industry.
- Develop and implement local Community Education and Engagement Plans aligned with RAQ’s statewide strategies.
- Coordinate Safer Gambling Network (SGNET) meetings to strengthen collaboration and information sharing.
- Collect and maintain accurate data and reporting in line with funding requirements.
About You
You are a confident communicator with a passion for community wellbeing and education. You bring creativity, initiative, and a strong understanding of harm minimisation and community development principles. You thrive on connecting with diverse audiences and turning awareness into action.
You will also have:
- Relevant qualifications in Behavioural Science, Psychology, Social Work, or Community Development.
- Experience designing and delivering education or awareness programs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and community engagement strategies.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with confidence using digital tools.
