The Chief Information Officer Division (CIO Division) drives the digital agenda for the department. Leading the delivery of the department’s digital offerings and transformation, the CIO Division partners with business areas and stakeholders to realise digital policy objectives, define the digital landscape, co‑design digital experiences and drive innovation and transformation of ICT services.
About The BranchThe ICT Operations Branch is responsible for the management and deployment of all ICT services to support the running of the organisation. The branch supports ICT networks, infrastructure, cloud platforms, on‑premises and hybrid cloud services, end‑user platforms, and enterprise projects.
About The SectionThe End User Services section delivers high‑quality, user‑centred digital services that provide stability, security and reliability for department staff. The section manages standard operating environments, corporate device management, desktop application packaging, collaboration tools and remote access services.

- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills focused on resolving issues
- Dedication to quality assurance and continual improvement
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a geographically dispersed team
- Design, develop, maintain and support the Standard Operating Environment (SOE) including desktop productivity software and corporate device configurations (desktop and mobile)
- Maintain the enterprise messaging and collaboration environment (Microsoft Exchange, Teams, Microsoft 365 Apps)
- Provide enterprise remote access solutions (virtual desktop and VPN)
- Package and deploy applications and manage automated patching processes
- Provide expert technical advice across supported platforms and services and represent the section in ICT governance forums
- Australian citizenship required
- Baseline security clearance required; successful candidates will obtain and maintain clearance at this level
- The role includes an expectation of participation in a rotating roster for on‑call support out of business hours
- A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette
- The department offers flexible work opportunities for many roles; the majority of the team is based in the ACT, but the team is open to hearing from strong candidates in other locations
