About the opportunity

As the VP of SaaS Engineering for Xplor Technologies, you play a crucial role in leading and managing the SaaS Xplor Gym engineering department. Your responsibilities involve overseeing multiple teams and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software products. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can balance execution with innovation driving delivery excellence, scaling teams, and aligning technology strategy with business outcomes. The VP of Engineering will be responsible for shaping the engineering culture, maturing our SDLC practices, and ensuring our products are scalable, secure, and delight customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead SaaS Xplor Gym engineering department, overseeing multiple teams and ensuring delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Balance execution with innovation, drive delivery excellence, scale teams, and align technology strategy with business outcomes.
  • Shape engineering culture, mature SDLC practices, and ensure products are scalable, secure, and customer-delighting.
  • Develop engineering roadmaps and architectural decisions that influence the global fitness technology platform and the Connect & Ecosystem solutions.
  • Lead initiatives that push industry boundaries, mentor colleagues, and develop the next generation of technical leaders.
  • Champion modern SaaS practices while balancing technical excellence with business outcomes.
  • Optimize processes and drive quality standards that set new benchmarks, expand technical community, and build partnerships.

Location: This role is fully remote within Australia, open to candidates with full working rights. Some overlap in working hours across time zones is important, and occasional business travel will be required.

  • Deep expertise in Connect & Ecosystem technologies with strategic thinking capabilities.

  • Global team experience leading geographically distributed engineering organisations.
  • Change agent mindset focused on simplifying processes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Expert-level understanding of AWS/cloud-native infrastructure and microservices.
  • Mastery of SaaS/IaaS/PaaS platforms, container orchestration, and service mesh architectures.
  • Strong grasp of API design, architectural governance, and managing technical debt.
  • Experience with operational concerns including resiliency, observability, and security.
