Primary objective Support the Standards and Operational Support Unit of the Forensic Science Branch with the continual improvement and execution of the FSB Quality Management System, FSB training program, WHS and other relevant standards/policy/legislation as required. Context statement As part of a dynamic team, develop, analyse and implement policies, strategies and projects to ensure the FSB provides a responsive, high-quality service to the NT justice system, with a focus on continuous improvement. You will tackle a variety of challenges in collaboration with FSB staff, other parts of the NT Police Force and other key stakeholders. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Research, formulate and provide advice on a broad range of quality, WHS, training and other relevant policy and legislation related to Forensic Science service delivery. 2. Prepare correspondence, briefings, policy papers and presentations for various audiences. 3. Undertake the collection and management of information and data. 4. Engage with internal and external stakeholders. 5. Support policy implementation, monitoring and evaluation, including through internal and external auditing processes. 6. Provide administrative support as required. Selection criteria Essential 1. Sound conceptual, research and analytical skills with the capacity to quickly understand and assimilate new information. 2. High level of accuracy, attention to detail and work ethic. Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. 3. Ability to manage a broad range of tasks, achieve outcomes and meet deadlines independently and in a team environment. 4. High degree of integrity and understanding of the requirements of dealing with confidential information. 5. Proven ability of using knowledge, facts, and data to analyse and identify potential solutions to issues. 6. Proficiency in computing software/tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, TRM and Adobe Acrobat. Desirable 1. Tertiary qualifications in science or experience working in science-related institutions/industry. 2. Experience working within an accredited quality management system. Further information 1. The successful applicant must have no significant criminal record confirmed by a Police criminal history check and provide DNA and fingerprint samples for comparison and retention. 2. The work of the FSB can be confronting and there is high risk of exposure to distressing material and information. The psychological wellbeing of all members of the FSB is a priority and as such, members are subject to annual Well Checks. The applicant must be suited to work in an area where there is an expectation and willingness to seek, engage and accept help with psychological services. 3. This position is subject to the conditions of the Northern Territory Public Sector 2021-2025 Enterprise Agreement.
