About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant and the Group Financial Reporting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the business to make informed financial decisions and achieve its strategic goals. You will efficiently and effectively assist in the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, and maintain an accurate, complete, and reconciled general ledger. This role will assist with all accounting and finance needs as required by the business and directed by the GM of Corporate Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly reports for each division, encompassing various revenue streams and financial activities

• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data

• Assist the Senior Financial Accountant in maintaining accounting policies and procedures, identifying potential improvements, and making recommendations

• Prepare Monthly Management Reports, providing insightful variance analysis, commentary on performance, and key performance indicators, including revenue analysis

• Assist with the budgets in accordance with the Group budget timetables and participate in the preparation of reforecasting

• Assist in preparing monthly BAS workings within legislation due dates, ensuring compliance with tax reporting and payment obligations (GST, PAYG, and payroll tax)

• Prepare journal entries recording all streams of revenue

• Reconcile daily cash flow movements through bank accounts with sales reports and accounts payable records, addressing any discrepancies

• Perform weekly/monthly review of bank reconciliations

• Reconcile all paperwork weekly, comparing bankings to external reports

Skills and Experience

• Pursuing CA/CPA or completed

• Commercial experience as an Assistant Accountant / Accountant

• Strong understanding of accounting concepts, including financial reporting

• Technical competency and strong MS Office skills (Excel)

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Proven track record in achieving results with the ability to prioritise, work in accordance with reporting needs.

• Confident in decision making and ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Flexibility to adapt and respond to changes emerging in a rapid paced environment.

• Ability to work under pressure and to tight timeframes.
