Disability Support Worker

We are seeking passionate and enthusiastic support workers to provide person-centred support to people living with a disability. Our goal is to assist participants in building their capacity and independence, skill-building, and accessing their community through social inclusion. This is a very rewarding and fulfilling position, starting on a casual basis with the potential for permanent employment.

As a support worker, you will have the opportunity to engage with individuals and groups in a variety of settings. These include participants homes, respite facilities, and various community locations. You may also be involved in supporting participants in educational environments, workplaces, social settings, and recreational activities. This diverse range of environments allows you to provide comprehensive and personalised support, ensuring that each participants unique needs and goals are met in the most effective way possible.

QUALIFICATIONS

➢ Current National Police Check

➢ Working with Children Check.

➢ First Aid certificate and CPR

➢ NDIS Workers Orientation and Screening

➢ 100 Points of ID

COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE

➢ Previous experience in a similar role - Minimum of 3-month relevant experience

➢ Previous experience supporting People with Disability.

➢ Demonstrated proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

➢ Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, and collaboratively as a member of a

multidisciplinary team.

➢ Ability to effectively priorities and organize own work / caseload.

➢ Demonstrated commitment to professional development, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.

➢ To be trained in supporting participants with restrictive practices and participate in further trainings regarding

the Positive behavior support plans of the participants.

➢ Experience in provide High intensity supports in line with the Registered Nurse trainings.
