Position Overview: As a casual Residential Youth Worker with Edmen, you can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are living in out-of-home care. Working with some of Australias best youth service providers, every day grants you a unique experience and adventure, empowering children and young people to live their best lives, in a nurturing and safe environment.

Shift times (these may vary): AM: 0600 - 1400 + 0800 - 1800 + 1130 - 2030 PM: 1400 - 2200 + 2200 - 0600 (Passive) + 0600 - 0930

Our rosters are done in advance, which grants you some stability working in a casual environment. We also have emergency and ad hoc shifts available each week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create a Safe and Supportive Home: Foster a secure, nurturing environment for at-risk youth.
• Empower Daily Living: Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence.
• Facilitate Transportation: Ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities.
• Promote Growth: Encourage skill development and socialization within the local community.
• Manage Health Needs: Administer medications and maintain accurate reporting.
• Deliver Trauma-Informed Care: Support youth with complex behaviors using trauma-informed approaches.
• Engage in Therapeutic Practices: Participate in the Trauma Recovery framework and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within your first three months.

What You Need: ✅ Hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar (see full list of accepted qualifications on our website) ✅ Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher) ✅ Working with Children Check (Blue Card) ✅ Current First Aid & CPR certificate ✅ The ability to work a mixture of day, night and weekend shifts as required
