About the role
Ambulance Victoria is currently seeking a suitably experienced Wellbeing and Support Senior Leader in the position of Director, Wellbeing and Support Services.
Reporting to the Executive Director, People and Culture, this key leadership position will deliver a high level of strategic leadership and direction enabling AV to develop, implement and deliver impactful programs and services to support the wellbeing (emotional and psychological) of AV employees and their families in line with compliance and best practice.
With an ability to lead operational excellence, mental health awareness and the establishment of evidence-based care pathways enabling a best practice, collaborative, agile and inclusive Wellbeing and Support Services function, this position will be critical to:
- Overseeing the delivery and ongoing development of organisational mental health and wellbeing strategies including mental health awareness, evidence based best care pathways, clinical governance overseeing research and evaluation of programs
- Leading a team to support a statewide ambulance service which optimises resources and delivery high quality support to staff and their families, ensuring ongoing clinical advice and support to mitigate individual and organisational risk
- Translating and adapting best practice to deliver value to the organisation, continuously reviewing the structure and recommending improvement to enhance efficiency and service experience
- Leading the development, implementation and ongoing management of a clinical governance framework
- Development and implementation of a suite of Key Performce Indicators to measure the success of AVs wellbeing and support services
- Provision of specialist advice and counsel to Senior Executives, Managers and key stakeholders on processes, initiatives, and legislative requirements to enable effective support, and the management of organisational risks and issues
- Providing open and effective leadership to build a high performance, collaborative culture the fosters high performance, efficiency, continuous improvement and development
- Leading and contributing to a safe, lawful, and respectful workplace culture through the modelling of ethical behaviours consistent with AV values (CARE)
About you
Suited to a highly motivated and strategic senior leader, the successful applicant will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications or industry specialised certifications with extensive, relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of extensive training and experience that have demonstrated proven outcomes in a mental health and wellbeing program across multi-disciplinary teams
- Demonstrated experience and skills in the management and delivery of staff support programs to a large, diverse workforce
- Proven ability to translate organisational strategies into action and deliver projects, plans and outputs which support strategic priorities
- Experience in driving and implementing strategic cultural, organisational, and transformational change and a commitment to build a responsive, future focused and contemporary culture at a senior level
- A high level of communication with an ability to build and maintain relationshipsand influence, negotiate, and generate buy-in with a range of stakeholders across all levels, both internal and external
- A coaching, mentoring and leadership approach to motivate, encourage, and support teams across the employee lifecycle
Please note - there is a requirement in this position to be available outside of ordinary working hours to provide advice, support, intervention and management of emergencies or time critical incidents or issues.
