Operations Supervisor

CDC Canberra is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our Operations team based out of our Queanbeyan Depot. This hands-on role will see you utilising every aspect of your scheduling, planning, investigation and admin experience to deliver on Operational Objectives. 

As an Operations Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient planning and coordination of services. Your ability to think critically, problem-solve, and adapt to changing priorities will be essential in maintaining smooth daily operations.

This Permanent Full-Time role and will report into the Team leader - Operations and is responsible for ensuring that our bus services run smoothly, reliably, safely and to budget. The Operations Supervisor is also responsible for assisting with employee and driver adherence to the Companys Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and Safety Management Systems.

Responsibilities Include: 

• Monitor and maintain shift rosters in conjunction with workshop requirements and driver availability 

• Ensure that services are delivered in a manner that allows CDC to meet its contractual KPIs

• Allocate buses and drivers to cover replacement and charter bookings, ensuring accurate assignments and proper scheduling. 

• Investigate accidents/incidents by reviewing CCTV and other sources of factual information pertaining to the investigation

• Monitor the performance of staff and report any possible breaches of CDC Policy

• Ensure service planning for new students or changes in routes is completed throughout the year.

To be successful in this role:

• Excellent computer skills including Excel, Work and Outlook 

• Experience with Computer Mapping Programs and CCTV systems 

• Proven experience in scheduling, logistics, or operations coordination.

• Preferably hold, or be able to hold, as a minimum, current ACT or NSW MR Drivers licence (ACT Drivers License must have an O endorsement)

• Hold a current Working with Vulnerable People card & NDIS Registration (or ability to obtain)

• Ability to interpret company policies and procedures and reports

• Ability to manage conflicting priorities whilst delivering on agreed timelines

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the support of your colleagues

• Experience working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated experience and vocational qualifications in transport and logistics would be looked upon favourably.
