About the team

Within the Wesfarmers Corporate Office, our Group Assurance team has a strong commercial focus and is responsible for the internal audit program across the Group. The team works closely with our businesses to deliver meaningful insights and provide pragmatic solutions to continually improve business performance.

Senior leadership role in Wesfarmers Corporate Office overseeing IT internal audit across the Group, with a focus on cyber security, data governance and AI. Lead transformation of the internal audit function and collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes in a large, complex organisation.

• Lead the development and execution of the IT Internal Audit Plan across the Wesfarmers Group
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to establish new ways of working that support the strategic transformation of the internal audit function
• Oversee the day-to-day management of outsourced audit providers
• Lead and participate in IT internal audits across the Group, with a focus on cyber security, data governance and AI
• Prepare and deliver quality reporting for Executive Management, Divisional Audit and Risk Committees and the Wesfarmers Board
• Lead work to support the design and development of IT related assurance programs or other major IT projects
• Ensure that the Wesfarmers approach to internal audit is aligned to leading practice and emerging industry trends

• Extensive experience in a senior IT internal audit and/or IT assurance role within a large complex environment (ideally a large ASX-Corporate or professional services firm)
• Proven track record in auditing complex organisations and IT projects, delivering robust assurance and pragmatic, value-add recommendations
• Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT and ITIL
• Strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a drive for delivering results
• Ability to collaborate with multiple organisational levels and stakeholder types (including first and second line technology teams)
• Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) along with influencing and presentation skills, and an ability to communicate complex topics simply
• Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights
• Strong people management and leadership skills
• An inquisitive mindset!
• Tertiary qualification in a Commerce, IT or Data Analytics related discipline and have completed CA/CPA/CIA accreditation

The Corporate Office provides corporate services and support to the autonomous businesses within the Wesfarmers Group, enabling the achievement of Group objectives. It leads capital allocation and portfolio management for the Group and focuses on leveraging and enhancing the Group’s reputation to support attraction and retention of talent, securing investment opportunities and maintaining a low-cost capital.
