Who We Are

Talwood State School is located 1 hour west of Goondiwindi. Talwood will surprise those who call in and have a look around. It’s a small town with a whole lot of community spirit that has grown to service the surrounding rural industry. Being in an agricultural setting means that most students attend from neighbouring properties in the district. The district is rich in cotton and wheat production as well as livestock and dry land farming. The school has a strong culture that promotes learning and the idea of being a lifelong learner. Evidence based practice informs the direction of teaching and learning for every student. Continuous data analysis ensures we have a sharp focus on where students can improve, and the pedagogical practices required to effectively support student improvement. Our school is very closely linked to the community and has a devoted and supportive P&C Association. The school caters for students from Kindy to Year 6.
