Primary objective As part of the Rosters and Operational Support team the role provides administrative support to the Manager Rosters and Operational Support and supports the administration processes within the centre for compliance with the enterprise agreement, rostering and advice received from central HR services at the Darwin Correctional Centre (DCC). Key duties and responsibilities 1. Coordinate the requests for support and assistance from DCC operational staff, forward requests and advice to and from delegates and disseminate requests and liaise with HR Consultants, Recruitment and Employment Services and Payroll teams as necessary. 2. Under the supervision of the Manager Rosters and Operational Support, provide administrative support to support the roster, leave and EA operational compliance within DCC and refer requests for HR advice to the central HR team. 3. Assist the Operational Support Team in the recruitment of individuals by evaluating candidate qualifications, skills and suitability for roles at DCC as a potential panel member. 4. Compile, maintain and electronically store records related to the operation of the Rosters and Operational Support Team. 5. Provide support to the Rosters team and undertake training on the roster system (OneStaff). 6. Apply high ethical standards of conduct, maintain strict confidentially and exercise sound judgement. 7. Work autonomously, within a customer focussed team environment and manage workflows to maintain quality and meet stated commitments. Selection criteria Essential 1. Experience in providing high level administration support in a busy team environment. 2. Ability to monitor matters being progressed through the full cycle of incoming enquiry until resolution of issue. 3. Highly developed interpersonal and oral communication skills. 4. Ability to build positive working relationships with team members, clients and stakeholders. 5. Highly developed written communications skills, including the ability to prepare email correspondence, forms and official correspondence using the Microsoft Office Suite. 6. High level organisational and time management skills with strong attention to detail and customer service. 7. To have completed Merit Selection Training or willing to obtain Desirable 1. Certificate III or higher in Business Administration. 2. Experience using rostering and/or administration systems or similar experience Further information The Department of the Corrections has a Smoke Free Policy.
