Position Available: Diesel Mechanics

Location: Wingfield, SA

About the Role:

Were looking for skilled Diesel Mechanics to join our team in Wingfield, SA, where your expertise will help keep our Mack and Kenworth vehicle fleet moving. Youll work with a supportive crew, diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults with precision.

This role is Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work as needed, plus a rotating on-call roster that includes an allowance.

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct mechanical assessments, fault diagnosis and repairs on Mack and Kenworth Trucks
  • Service and maintain trucks, trailers, and dollies in line with workshop procedures
  • Repair or replace brakes, suspension, steering systems, and major engine components
  • Perform welding and grinding on chassis and comb rails of flat-top trailers
  • Complete auto-electrical work on 12V and 24V systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimise downtime
  • Order and install replacement parts in line with manufacturer specifications and quality standards
  • Develop and update preventative maintenance schedules
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records in line with company procedures
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and promote a safe working environment

Skills and Experience: 

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a diesel mechanic working on heavy vehicles and trailers
  • Australian-recognised Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic Trade Qualification
  • Proven experience working on MACK and Kenworth trucks
  • Full Australian work rights (no restrictions)
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices
  • Physically fit and comfortable performing manual tasks
  • Reliable, motivated, and a collaborative team player
