Reporting to the Environment and Community Manager, this opportunity exists for an experienced and qualified Environment and Community Advisor to work at Oaky Creek Coal.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership to drive excellence in environment and community engagement
  • Provide technical advice and operational support
  • Onsite environmental and community stakeholder activities across the underground, surface and CHPP areas
  • Offsite stakeholder management activities which cover the township of Tieri, neighbouring properties and exploration tenure.
  • Developing strong working relationships with operations personnel, traditional owners, local business owners, community groups, pastoral and other relevant stakeholders
  • The planning and implementation of key projects, auditing systems and performance monitoring in water and/or rehabilitation activities.
  • Initiatives to progress responsible mining.
  • Organising and facilitating community reference groups, events, forums, and partnership projects.

You will:

  • be a high performing, systems thinker who is goal orientated and highly organised
  • be able to demonstrate your commitment to a high performing safety culture
  • hold, as a minimum, a tertiary qualification in environmental science/engineering and/or social science/ community development expertise
  • have experience in and a working knowledge of Queensland mine site activities
  • have attention to detail in reporting and good written/verbal communication skills
  • hold or have the expertise required to attain a supervisory position under the Coal Mining Safety and Health legislation (Queensland)

This is a Monday to Friday role based in Tieri.
