Azure Cyber Security Architect | Large Fed Gov Department | Canberra, ACT | Market Rates Your new company Our client is a large federal government department, seeking to engage an Azure Cyber Security Architect to join their specialist cybersecurity team, dedicated to enhancing security architecture and reducing cyber risk across critical agency environments.

This team plays a key role in aligning ICT solutions with ACSC, ASD directives, ISM, PSPF, and Essential Eight requirements, ensuring compliance with evolving cybersecurity best practices. This is an initial up to 12 month contract engagement with the potential for up to 2 x 12 month extension options. Your new role

As a Security Architect, you will be responsible for designing, reviewing, testing, and assuring technical environments and solution designs in accordance with industry-leading security frameworks. You will provide technical and non-technical guidance on security architecture best practices, assess application and system integration designs, and lead the implementation of Essential Eight controls to uplift cybersecurity maturity. In addition, you will work closely with stakeholders to raise awareness of security risks, assess vulnerabilities, and develop strategic security solutions that align with government compliance requirements.

What youll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will need: An NV1 Security Clearance and Canberra-based availability.

Proven Federal Government experience in minimising cybersecurity vulnerabilities and implementing secure-by-design practices to uplift security capabilities. Extensive experience in Azure cloud infrastructure and services, particularly in technical cybersecurity architecture. Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity architecture reviews, providing technical guidance on PSPF, ISM, and Essential Eight controls.
