Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) is a consortium comprising of industry leading Tier 1 organisations - John Holland, Service Stream and WSP. Sydney Water has partnered with D4C to deliver design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services across their southern region - from Bondi to Gerringong, and out to Georges River. 

D4C is seeking an HR Lead to join their expanding team to deliver excellence in water projects across the Southern Region. 

About the Opportunity:

Are you an experienced HR/P&C Manager who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments? Do you want to take ownership of an HR function during an exciting period of growth, where you can shape the future of the function? In this generalist HR role, youll be reporting to the Head of People & Culture, and youll be at the forefront of day-to-day operations, fully immersed in all HR activities, from recruitment to employee relations and everything in between across the employee lifecycle. You will also be the leader of a small but highly motivated HR team, where you will have the opportunity to mentor, develop, and guide them to success. 

Youll have the opportunity to partner with operational leaders across both blue-collar teams and professional engineering teams, where your leadership and people skills will be key to success. You will need to be hands-on and ready to roll up your sleeves, but youll also play a pivotal strategic role in shaping HR processes, enhancing employee experience, and driving excellence across the organisation.

As an HR Lead your day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to: 

  • Lead the HR function, overseeing recruitment, employee relations (be the Lead investigator on any complex investigations), performance management, and DE&I initiatives, across both blue and white collar.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle from recruitment through to offboarding (800 + employees).
  • Work closely with the L&D Lead on people development and employee engagement initiatives.  
  • Liaise with JV parent company HR/IR advisors and regulatory bodies when necessary.
  • Mentor and develop a small but high-performing HR team, providing guidance and support to ensure they deliver excellence.
  • Manage and execute HR processes on a day-to-day basis, while keeping an eye on long-term strategic HR goals.
  • Be a trusted advisor to people leaders, providing insights and solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Champion a culture of growth, inclusivity, and continuous improvement within the organisation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for HR matters, ensuring smooth and effective communication.

Essential Requirements: 

  • Demonstrated experience managing recruitment, employee relations, performance reviews, and compliance processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and inspire a team.
  • Ability to balance the hands-on, operational aspects of HR with a strategic mindset.
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to navigate and manage relationships with a demanding partnership.
  • A proactive, self-starter attitude with the confidence to shape and implement HR initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the business.
  • Comfortable with travel to sites across the region.

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams
  • Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organisational Development, or a related field.
